Reading between the lines it would seem that the essential things to take are a camera, swimwear and plenty of money.

The other things that I always take on tropical trips are malaria pills, a bottle of gin and a universal fitting bathplug.
Your own snorkelling equiptment and sleeping tablets for the long flight (assuming you are flying from uk...?)
Absolutely heaps of info here
Have been a few years ago..........Stunning.
Good camera, good book, snorkling gear and a shedload of cash.....well expensive. Find a shop fast and stock up on essentials like drinks and nibbles.
Have a great time its worth the journey
