I am going to America in January for the first time. I do definitely intend to visit San Francisco, but also a city on the East Coast first, I can't however make up my mind between New York or Miami, which is better? Thanks.
New York without a doubt. There is so much to do there. We had 5 days in July and can't wait to go back. There is still so much to see and do. We also visited San Francisco, we also loved it there. I am very jealous, could I fit in you luggage, Please?
Except... big except! In January? New York can be miserable in January... or February... or March. If you're in England and looking for some warm days, hot Caribbean food, warm and sweet Cafe' Cubano and lots to do in shirt sleeves, then Miami is the only choice, in my opinion...
Witout a doubt New York! As long as you wrap up warm, you can do & see so much. If you're lucky you may get snow - my friend went a few years ago and his photos of Central Park are a real winter wonderland scene. My ambition now is to walk in the snow in Central Park - but I always miss the snow on my visits! I'm back there for New Year Eve's in Times Square I can't wait!!
I still say New York - I know it will be cold - but with so much to do I really don't think it matters. If you are looking for sun - well then you wouldn't think about New York anyway - You don't go to New York for the weather there is so much more there. I still want a space in your suitcase Andy. :-)
Just a suggestion for you...Have you thought about the West Coast 1st and the East Coast last....That way you get the longest flight out the way at the start when you are all excited, and that horrible final flight home is the shorter...As I said, just a suggestion.
