Last min hols

Every year i think about leaving my main summer holiday until the last minute, with the hopes of getting a good deal to an exotic place, but always end up going cold turkey and booking something at February time. Just wondering peoples opinions on last minute holidays? Can you get good deals? What sort of places are available, and at what kind of prices? any experiences or ideas please!! Thanks =]

I went to Greece for a week for �115 all in. Lovely hotel, 3***b&b, booked it a week before

Went to Egypt this year for �240 half board 4****, Booked it three days before

I've booked late deals to Egypt quite a few times now. Usually a week or two ahead. Just avoid school holidays and the bargains are there to be had.

My friend has been away last minute twice from the Thomson auction site and has had 2 good experiences. The first time she bid on flights only and booked a hotel on line. Second time she bid on self catering accommodation and flights.
