Kia is a Korean car and truck manufacturer. Rio is one of their car models. A knock sensor is a device fitted to an engine that detects premature detonation.
I thought a knock sensor detected car collisions and cut off the fuel supply.

The question asks what is a Kia Rio knock sensor.
As I said in my first response, this is a device to detect premature detonation (in the engine)
A knock sensor picks up high frequency vibrations generated by pinking and passes the signal to the ignition ECU which retards the spark timing.
