my sister in law who is 78 yrs old wants to visit her niece in Canada but is having a problem with travel insurance because she had a Mitral valve replacement in April last year .
the insurers we have tried either will not insure her or quote 2000 for 3 weeks holiday ,
Does anyone know of an insurance company that will insure her with her medical history for a much lesser quote . or dont ask for medical screening .?
Would appreciate any help . thankyou

If she has a barclaycard she might be able to get covered by them. Saga magazine does insurances for elderly people.
Don't know if they're any better, but have you tried RIAS and Halp the Aged? They both specailise in insurance for older people.
Hope she has a great holiday.
Also Age Concern & Atlas Direct.
Just found this on moneysavingexpert.com, with loads of ideas, suggestions and case studies.

Hope this answer doesnt come too late? I have two sources you can try who may be able to offer more information for your sister in law.

Insure For All (http://www.insureforall.com/) specialise in arranging senior travel insurance. If you are finding it difficult taking out travel insurance, then they can help, they also won some awards recently.

The other is Medici Travel (http://www.medicitravel.com/). They are specialists in good quality cover for those with pre-existing medical conditions or those with medical condition to declare.

It may be worth making a visit even just to get some further info.

Good luck.
