We've booked a holiday to Marrakesh in May this year and I was wondering if there are any rules about how much to tip people such as the story tellers, snake charmers and acrobats etc in the markets. Also, does anyone have any recommendations about trips from the city to nearby places?

I don't know about others, but I recall these people as being some of the most violent beggars I've ever met.

Bali, back-packing on dollars a day in India?, no problem compared to Marrakech

I went a while ago, about 15 years, but am left now with images of people throwing money at beggars just to keep the street people off themselves.

I hope that it has changed since that time.
