Flying with Virgin from London to Sydney

I am flying with Virgin to Sydney in a few weeks and I know we stop to re fuel at Hong Kong. I was wondering if anyone else has flown with Virgin before as I'd like to know if you can disembark for a bit of a fresh air at Hong Kong or whether you have to stay on the plane? Thanks in advance!

i flew with virgin from London to Melbourne. I think it depends on how long you have in the airport. I had 6 hours to wait so was able to get off the plane as for leaving the airport i really dont know.

I believe it's just an hour and a half. I don't even mind if we can�t go in the airport but I'd just like to stretch my legs and get some fresh air. So far one person at Virgin has told me we can get off the plane and another has said we can't?

Yes you should be able to get off the plane and walk round the duty free area of the airport to stretch your legs [which is full of wonderful flashy shops!] but you are not allowed to clear customs and go 'outside' as you are in transit.

I did the same journey as you, and I would really recommend going to the outdoor swimming pool/showers. We only had about 90 mins, and managed to go for a shower (private shower room), brush our teeth etc, it was brilliant after being stuck on a plane.

Fantastic a shower! When I spoke to a woman at Virgin Customer Services she said I couldn't even get off! Bit confused about the pool though at an airport?

I flew London Heathrow to Hong Kong with Virgin Atlantic (flight VS200, right?). That flight has a stop of about 90 minutes in Hong Kong and then that same aircraft continues to Sydney.

All passengers, whether going to Sydney or not, had to disembark the aircraft in Hong Kong. I can only imagine that after a 12 hour trip from London, the aircraft needs a bit of a clean. Cleaning is probably a hundred times easier with no passengers in the way!
