ayers rock/uluru accommodation
Any recommendations for accommodation at ayers rock? Want something quite luxurious as it's my 50th birthday. Would rather go with a recommendation than trust to luck.

The food in the restaurant was good and cheaper than the Sails. Having the kitchen allowed us to get our own breakfast and prepare sanwiches for lunch when we were out.
Wherever you stay it will be expensive compared to hotels of similar standards elsewhere.
You don't say when you will be going but be aware that at some times of year the flies are awful.

Thanks for that Cathyhuns. There is flexibility in an apartment and you are right about the cost - massively inflated compared with the rest of Oz but they do have a captive audience and we either pay what they ask or don't go! We are going in May (can't move my birthday!) so I'm guessing the flies won't be too bad. Thanks to everyone for their feedback.
