Have they now changed the rules regarding what we can take thru to departure at Gatwick, for a long haul flight? Can we take food, water, magazines etc, as they stopped this a while ago ??

Thanks Paul , but it doesn't seem to mention my chicken sarnies as I don't like airport food ... !! By the way can I take tins of food in my suitcase ??
Yes - I do when I visit my daughter in Canada - They can't get Heinz Baked beans there, so we have to take them for her.

Jim I'm taking Baked Beans and Colmans Mustard to a mate in Thailand !!
From the airline's point of view, cans of food in suitcases are no problem - unless they make the case overweight..

However some countries are picky about what foodstuffs they will allow you to import - even in tins. For example the US is very fussy about meat imports.
Thailand is ok with baked beans - I used to make visitors bring mature cheddar and HP sauce, but you can that here now. Just costs a fortune, that's all. Actuallly, you can get Heinz beans, but it cost around 2 and a half quid a can

What's the weather like Trotbot ??
Actually, it is cooler than normal - it's getting to about 31C in Bangkok at the moment, but there is a lovely (and unusual) breeze, so all the windows are open and the aircon is off. Hua Hun normally has a sea breeze anyway, so you should be fine
