A couple I know are taking a 7 day cruise fron Luxor on the vessel Ra 1 at the end of May. They would like to know what injections are needed and what currency to take. Also, if any AB -ers have any useful tips to share, these would be appreciated.

We went on a Nile cruise on Magic 2 last spring and I don't think we needed any jabs at all.you don't need anti malaria drugs as the nile is totally malaria free and provided you DO NOT drink any water except from sealed bottles there's really no danger at all.A tip though is to buy your water from the stalls at the riverside as then it costs about 20% of the price on board the boats, just make sure that the bottles ae properly sealed and you're O.K.you have to be very firm with the traders alongside all the ancient sites though as they are first class pests. For heavens sake DO NOT go inside ant of the stalls/shops set up on the route to the tombs etc. as very often you will be held to ransom and not allowed to leave until you've bought something or your rep rescues you not much fun! It's a really great holidat though so just get out there and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dont have ice cream, water melon [ or anything grown in water or drinks made with water], always pay for bottled water with unbroken seals.
Take "gippy tummy" tablets with you and mosquito repellant and small first aid kit just in case.
Enjoy the experience.
