ring whatever airport it was and ask for lost property dept, if you live a long way away they will sometimes post to you if you prepay.
Dont hold much hope though, I lost a lovely expensive sun hat that I bought in Vegas, left it on the plane from Goa, reported it before we left the airport but it was never handed in and I rang every day for 2 weeks.

most planes have a quick turnaround. If the plane was cleaned then the cleaners would have handed it in to the crew if they were available.or else it would have gone into the rubbish bin and compressed and taken to a council tip. If the item was obviously expensive the celaners would have defeinitely handed it in, if they fond it. if the cleaners did not find it then the next passenger on that seat may have found it and done as above or pocketed it.
Thanks for the help everyone, i rang the airport but the lost property dept. that deal with easyjet have an answer machine where you leave a message and if its found they call you. I left a message but don't think i'll have much luck as it was a hand held game which has probably got a new owner by now :( just wondering if it'll be possible to claim on insurance or something.
how can u claim from the airline or insurance company for something that u did ie left behind something onbrd the aircraft,,,
i know this happens a lot of time as i work in the industry,,
the airline will say they r not responable for the item and might evan give u a letter saying u were on the flight but will not compensate u, as for the insuance company if it was me i would be laughing and send a leeter saying would u forget ur head if it was not screwed on.....sry for being blunt.....
