I've posted this in Food and Drink as well, but thought it might do better here.

I've noticed some Hershey's chocolate appearing in our local supermarket, but it seems very pricey for what you get.

Can any ABer from the US give me an idea how much they are over there? At the moment I've seen Reece's Cups and something else peanutty, name I've forgotten!

I'm coming over in May, perhaps I should take an extra suitcase for the Reese's Cups!

I don't actually think it's all that nice, for the extra cost involved.

I love Reece's Cups at the mo, but for the peanut, not the chocolate!

General census of opinion is that Hershey bars aren't that nice. Here are a few alternatives.
I read that american chocolate is awful because, when they were originally trying to set up the factories in the US, they had to import the ingredients. As milk was required, it could not be prevented from curdling on the journey but they used it anyway. It has been made that way ever since.
Choc bars are running at 65cents in Canada, around 30p UK. Why would you want hersheys when English choc is so much better? Belgian even more so, Swiss choc etc.

Thanks for price info! I'm not so struck on the chocolate, it's the peanut filling I love. I'm not a great chocoholic, guess that's why I like Hershey's!
