Times Quiz - answer trade, 25 b,e
God there are dozens of times quiz questions coming in now !
OK - I have all the answers EXCEPT 25 b and e (e I think I know but I'm not convinced).
I'm also not convinced that the literal translation for Salzburg (40 a) - Salt Castle - is correct given that all of the others are mountain related - so anyone who has a mountain related answer - please let me know.
If you can answer any of the above I'll happily trade other answers.

Oh god this whole sunday times thing is getting out of hand!
As reagrds Salzburg - I had an answer in a different forum with reagrad to the translation to salt mountain and it referenced an article in a newspaper -
Apparently, it can also be translated as Salt mountain. http://www.sptimes.com/Travel97/10198/Adventures_D
own_Under.html I agree that the literal translation is acastle but given the translation of the other 3 answers it has got to be mountain related and therefore I think Salt mountain is going to be correct. As for the nemesis question 25 - not much closer - I have a), c) and d) (as do most people I think) but I'm still highly skeptical of allanswers I've heard for b and e. Thus far the bestcandidates I can find for e) are Magellan and to a lesser extent John cabot. This is based on pictures I've seen of them both - thedifficulty arising in clear portrats and dress for the period etc. Cabot is mostly pictured without a beard but I've seen one sketch of him with a beard and that stupid style beret but its from the front and therefore not too convincing. Magellan the general look is mnore convincing for several pitures I've seen but none have the stupid hat. This is the only decent image I can find of de gama and I don't think it's a match : http://www.art.com/asp/sp-asp/_/UI--DD7199A5E1184D

Magellan is my best bet for 25e as well but I still have no clue as to who 25b is. The picture itself is 19th century (having checked with a dude who does Art History at Cambridge!) but he doesn't know who it is or even who could have painted it. Am now willing to trade everything except my sanity; I lost that whilst looking for this answer!
25a I'm pretty sure is Marco Polo , as for Rajasthan - not too convinced - it isn't one I came up with myself but got an answer from here the other day - I can't find the image myself. I've also had Yemen suggested for it with an equal number of objections. Personally I think it looks kinda spanish/moroccan but can't find anything to back it up.
I agree 25b is nineteenth century but can't isolate who. Tried Richard Burton but he's only got a moustache not a beard. John Speke had a beard like a rhondedendron bush so it can't be him either. Someone suggested the name Wills but I don't who this is.
I vote we storm the Sunday Times building and hold everyone hostage until they tell us the damn answers !
