Ok for those who need answers - ask a question and I'll do my best to answer.
With respect to the previous offers to provide answers - sorry I had to curtail the thread - the wife was getting irritated at my giving away the answers for a competition - I think she should watch a christmas carol myself - so the offer is still open but you will have to reply to this thread only - I've just registered this to my personal web mail not to our regular e-mail.
Hotrocker the Ghan railway changed v. recently to a new route from adelaide to Darwin the real answer for 2 a) is adelainde to alice springs. You're correct for your answers to 16 c and d.
Cheers
Thanks but I'm still confused. I thought Adelaide and Alice Springs were already linked, but the Ghan extends the route to Darwin. I was therefore not sure if the answer to the question "which 2 cities are linked for the 1st time" should be Adelaide to Darwin, or Alice Springs to Darwin. Please can you clarify. As a matter of interest, have you also done the Telegraph Xmas Quiz?
andy----q28---why would your beloved spouse after so much time and effort suddenly jetison australia for s africa on this one. you are now making me jittery! australia it is. wine gone gin evaporating !!!
hotrocker - appreciate your comments but from what my wife said the change on the web site to add darwin has literally only happened in the last few days - i.e. only alice springs was there when she first researched the question hence her certainty on this point since it seemsa bit unfair for the times to ask something not publicly known at the time - this said - I'm now going to have to look for myself - christ this is getting beyond a joke !
Dr Cochrane- don't know is the short answer just saw australia crossed out and s. america (not africa) filled in - I would/will try to find out why but given her general lack of xmas spirit in the furtherance of others answers at this point I can't guarante an answer. If I can wheedle one out of her I'll post it on this thread though
cheers
Forget that, it is. However, still stuck on the question 10b. Seems to me that there are two sites where you can swim near a geothermal power station, Iceland and New Zealand. However, I suspect that the difference will be in paying to swim at one and not the other. Anybody able to illucidate?
Well I don't want to make it too easy.i checked out sgraffito tiles because i saw these swiss houses in a book.i then typed sgraffito and houses into google and found the answer fairly easily .it's in europe.and it's not switzerland!!
