I want to apply for a wotking visa in the U.S through a camp councellor recruitment agency but am currently serving a ban for drink driving on my license. The camp say that they cannot gaurentee my getting a visa. Problem is if I apply I must pay a hefty commitment and embassy fee. Has anyone successfully obtained a working visa under these conditions.

its likely they will turn you down as you will have admitted it on the forms,if you dont admit it,then you have a good chance, the us embassy do not have access to our criminal records, unless they do a crb check on you.

Thanks for that. Will maybe look for another agency and keep stum this time. Much appreciated.
Drink driving is not normally a reason to turn you down, as a tourist anyway. It's (bizarrely) not a crime involving moral turpitude. I suspect they don't want you because you may need to drive whilst you are there.
