Los Angeles Accommodation?
I'm going to be heading out to Los Angeles in November. At this stage, I'm only booking the flights. In the next month or two, I hope to book the accommodation.
Can anybody recommend a hotel which is (1) affordable and (2) centrally located?
Also, how easy is it to see Los Angeles without a car, instead relying on public transport? Is it possible?
Many Thanks!

I would suggest staying in Santa Monica. This is a delightful coastal town with many hotels but it won't be cheap. From here you can do Venice Beach and all the Hollywood stuff by bus. The new Getty museum is worth a visit but you will need a car for this.

I booked my hotel in LA through travelsupermarket.co.uk all prices and stars are shown as well as a wee map to let you know where it is. We stayed at the Ritz Milner which was clean friendly and very central. The metro was straight across the road and plenty of nice places to eat. Some rooms can be as little as 18 per night (Las Vegas) and thats for a double!!

Hi,
It's a pity you aren't driving. I seldom book in advance, it is so easy to find a hotel or motel, Have a look at the room if,
you don't like it just go elswhere.
I appreciate that for a first visit this sounds a bit hairy!
There are plenty of choices on the web, usually try LA TOURIST INFO or any other town you may wish to visit.
Hope you enjoy your trip. Cheers, crunchie.
