nice/monaco - where to stay, what to see or do?
I will be in this (and the surrounding) area for the last 2 weeks in May. Can anyone recommend any 'must see' things/places or anywhere unusual to stay/visit. I would particularly be interested in food & drink, vineyards, museums, galleries, festivals however any info based on personal experience would be really useful. Thanks

There for the Grand Prix?
There is a great museum actually in the hill in Monaco - dont get mixed up with Monte Carlo. Monaco is the principality on the hill - there is a Jacues Cousteau museum and also the church where Princess Grace is interred - its a very nice place to spend the day.
Otherwise - have a look at this section of my website -

it has some great days out including Eze - which is close to Monte Carlo and St Paul De Vence. Will you be having use of a car - it would pay to do so or there is a great train network that runs into Italy (great market at Ventimiglia on a Friday) or westerly along the coast to places like St Raphael/Theoule sur Mer/La Napoule (castle here) Cannes/Antibes/Juans Les Pins - all worthy of a look.
Good luck and have a great time.

one of the prettiest places i have seen is Mougins (nr Canne). Superb hillside village, it;s filled with beautiful small hotels and so many resturants (a real foodie mecca). all of the resturants are so amazing to look at they all must spend hundreds a day just on fresh flowers. gorgeous galaries too.
