hi there, can anyone tell me what benalmadena is like? i am going at the end of july and have never been before! i am staying next to the 24 hou square, can anyone tell me what htis is? i have seen benalmadena on costa del street crime and it says tha it is the knife capital of spain! so i am a bit wary now!!!

i lived in benalmadina for four years. its lovely. gr8 night life, fab beaches and locals are friendly. 24 hour square is always busy with people anf traffic. it used to be run down and abit dogy but they have put afew million in to redevelopment so now its a gr8 place for a night out really trendy. yer there is alot of knife crime but its really only if your out after 1 in moring when every1 is drunk and arguments flare. just keep your witts about you because pick pockets and handbag thevies are on the increase. in 24 hour square you are right by the marina which has got a nice mixture of shops, restarunts and clubs. spent every sat down there. oh also if your flying into malaga airport like i guess you are. they are have a huge redevelopment of the airport as well so things might be abit of a mess and the traffic to and from the airport is always bad. so if your driving add extra time so that you make check-in. just warning you incase you wonder was the hell is goin on. lol. hope this helps and hope you have a fab time.

be adventurous too and take the local train fron Benalmadena to Malaga for a day out great thing about this area is that there's plenty of public transport with frequent local buses to most places worth visiting so no need for expensive excursions and you get to meet the people and see the real sights It's quite easy to visit Granada for the day if you like beautiful old places too

i used to have a holiday home in malaga...which is very near benalmadina....benalmadina is beautiful it has very typical little spanish towns...really amazing tapas bars...and the scenery is amazing.....it has fab night life, 24 hour square is the place to be for sure...and yes there is alot of pick pockets...be careful it has happend to my mom....they tend to walk really close to you....and very quitly sneak stuff out of your bag if its open or your pockets.... it has tons of great resturants one of my favorite is Robbie's (if your looking for good resturants aswell....anyways hope i helped...have an amazing trip!

Been a few times in the past few yrs(going again in July)
We always use the train.Cheap as chips.Arrive at arroya,
(think thats how you spell it)jump in a taxi.Sorted.
