Can anyone recommend a cheap, no-frills hotel in central Amsterdam?

As close to Centraal station as possible.

Just look for the ones with red lights....lol.

Have a look at easytobook.com, Try hotel King about 5 mins from station on trams which run every 2 mins. You should find a hotel with bed and breakfast for two people cost comes to around �30 per person a night in high season.

Basic but only 180 euro for 4 nights for a single room including continental breakfast. I would go back.
