I've been called for Jury Service, I had it deferred but it's coming up soon. Does anybody know how long it takes, minimum? I'm a bit confused because in the booklet they sent me it says that some trials may only last a couple of days, but in another part of the booklet it says that I may be called to serve on several trials during "my two weeks". Does this mean that I will be there for at least two weeks...I don't understand.

You could be there for two weeks and be called up for several trials during that time. You could be called for a trail that is assessed as lasting more than two weeks. On the other hand you may attend for two weeks and be sent home every day without sitting on any trials. You should allow for two weeks but you may be dismissed before that. Whatevr happens you can claim any reasonable expenses, including loss of pay.
