I am extraordinarily ****** off with a certain holiday company that will remain nameless, (who discovered Australia? Capt Cook was it?) but i have every right, I strongly advise anyone booking in the near future to employ the barg pole method of measuring. Where are you all going on holiday, i am going fekking nowhere.

I'm doing that dance lol
Talking off dancing , that's what they may be doing whilst taking your calls - seriously. I lasted one day working in a travel agent contact centre and I couldn't stomach anymore. Farcical doesn't even BEGIN to describe it. The call hall was decked out with palm trees and other ridiculous looking items to make it look 'exotic'. Whilst I was 'buddied up' ie sitting with an experienced(debatable) member of staff listening to their calls , every so often Mambo number 5 would be piped through the call hall and everyone leapt up off their chairs and started dancing wildly. (I kid you not - sadly) I wondered what the hell was going on and was advised by the girl I was sitting with that it happened all day - it meant that someone had hit target or had passed the mystery shopper check. (Can't remember - load of crap anyway)

If you were really lucky - or I would say unlucky - and hit a certain amount , the management would come dancing round your desk doing a hula dance. Everything is geared around silly antics and sillier dancing with rewards to staff for what I can only describe as sloppy service. What a lot of people don't know is that when they are going throught to 'another dept' they are calling India and their centre there is even worse. Or at least that was my experience four years ago. I have never in my life seen such an unprofessional bunch of misfits in all my life. Just my opinion mind but as I say , I lasted one day. That must tell you something eh?

Nothing would surprise me about them at all because I feel that they are so busy larking about that they are neglecting the most important issue - the needs of their customers , the people who let's face it, justify their sorry existence.
Oh forgot to say, if you're on hold it may be because they are dancing to Mambo No 5. I lost count of how many calls were either ditched completely or put on hold to wait for their idiotic dance to finish. Remember that the next time you're on hold. They are most likely dialling India or dancing ! Same goes for when they are having talks in the call hall about incentives for targets. Meanwhile , you wait in the hold system but remember - your call is important to them and they will answer it as soon as an adviser becomes available.................. they just have to stop dancing first! If they sound breathless you'll know why lol.
Oh I see that my post has been edited. I didn't name and shame the "Travel agent" contact centre AB ed , I abbreviated the initials which may have been anything but fair dues - noted. A bit silly really though when the clue is in the question :-)
Please can you stop moaning about the loss of your holiday. I am sick of reading about it as it is posted on nearly every category. Of course you are annoyed and yes they are wrong but you are not the only person to have your holiday plans mesed up. Just be grateful that no one had died. I had to cancel my dream holiday to Florida weeks before we went disappinting children as well because my mum in law was very ill. She died 3 weeks ago so no we arent going on holiday either now.

tigwig I get that and sympathise, but the holiday company didn't cause that and you had no reason to blame them, I am fuming about it because it was their fault, can't blame someone for being ill.
dot, I am not blaming the holiday company or anyone in particular all I am saying it that your posts are on every category I looked at so I was a bit sick of seeing it! It just hit a bit of a raw nerve with my circumstances thats all. By the way, why don't you just book another holiday and go I know it won't be what you should have been doing but any holiday is better than none surely.
