Parking In Florida

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to park in Florida if driving to a beach for the day? I'm fairly familiar with Orlando, but never really travelled anywhere 'off our own backs'.

Hi yes ever so easy!!!!!! we went orlando then down to st petes for the second week and parking is so easy not like here massive parking bays , just watch out for your stuff, have had car broken into to as it was a hired car and stuff stole out of boot must have watched us leave the car, so take care do not leave anything of value in boot.

I think Florida used to have special number plates for hir cars, which of course was a come-on for thieves. I don't know if this is still true, though

yes it is true jno but after they were targeted they changed them to be the same as others

anywhere in the whole United States you'll find parking so easy, not like the mess here in the UK

Go to Daytona - drive on the beach - about as close as you can get!

Parking is all around the open access beaches, some offer designated car parks, others have parking a block or so away. Some areas have a charge for parking at the beash - as at West Palm Beach, but there are alos loads of beaches open to all and free parking that also offer lifeguards on duty, access to the nearby cafes and so on.

National parks (like the John Pennekamp NP in the Keys) may be the best bet if you have a worry about crime as above - they offer parking with potentially better security....and sailling, scuba gear hire, clean beaches, etc etc

In short, go , park (check for any fees) and have fun...

parking is not a problem at any of the beaches I've been to - Daytona has already been covered above also try Cocoa Beach, lovely and a few shops (Ron Jon's Surf Shop - open 24 hrs) nearby as well as places to eat etc...

No problem anywhere in Florida, they cater for motorist unlike UK> All parking is free too.
