I moved from London to Ibiza, Spain in 1971, left behind a good job, a luxury flat and a abusive partner and have never looked back. Dropped all my inhibitions (for a while) became a hippie and taught infants school. Never looked back.
I spent 14 happy years living in Dubai, I went there without a job but being a Brit soon found one, and a husband too. I worked for BMW showroom and that included a free company car. Then one day I realised I was livng in la la land and came home, 14 years was enough, I missed the four seasons most, sun every day for 14 years becomes boring, and I never now go on a beach holiday either.
If you are thinking of doing it , go, you will never know unless you try, take the plunge and good luck.
Yes. I lived in Cape Town for 26yrs, came back when my father was ill, have stayed here for 10 yrs and now am packing to go back to S.Africa. Over there, Petrol 45p a litre, 8 for a three course meal, TV licence 10 a year. This is rip-off Britain. Back to the sunshine for us and more importantly first class medical care with no waiting!
Hi Amber , I lived 13 years in Australia and have never regretted it , great country. :-)

We've been in Belgium for 27 years and have no desire whatsoever to return to the UK.
