I have been to Sherwood Forest, Longleat and Elvedon Forest. It depends what you want from your holiday. If you are staying in the village all the time there is not all that much difference.
I found that Longleat was quite hilly.

Thanks samsong. The family range from 18 months to 65 years, hoping to have three different size lodges for ten people and various activities to suite all.
I've been to both Sherwood Forest and Elveden Forest. I think they are all fairly similar, however as Samsong7 says Longleat is hilly, which is why we haven't been there.

Some advice for you as your party are mixed ages, if there are some in the party who won't cycle and/or are not too good in walking, it is worth paying the extra to choose a central location villa as some of the other villas can be a long way from the main park area where the swimming pool, restaurants etc are based. Book activities as soon as you are able to as they quickly fill up. Watch out for the wildlife, squirrels and swans have been known to come into our villa when the doors are open!
i have been to elvedon sherwood and oasis whenwell

i much prefer elvedon for the scenery but elvedon is a really lovely site too. not too keen on sherwood
i mean i prefer whenfell forest for the scenery ...sorry
put it down to all this rain and the thought of a holiday - i went daft
I have only been to Whinfell and would thoroughly recommend it - the childrens activities are excellent. They have an adult only Spa, which I have never been to, but it looks nice!
