new york maps on foot

I have been on google map and typed in the street of my hotel and the places i want to go but it gives everything by driving route and the time it take by driving route.Is there anything that does these maps by foot?

it only takes a minute or so to walk a block from one street to the next in NYC - and nearer three minutes from one avenue to the next (ie east-west)... at least at my arthritic speed. And Broadway, being diagonal, may save you a bit of time. If that's any help.

There used to be a volunteer group in New York that would do a walking tour with you and give you the local history etc at your pace and what you wanted to see.
Unfortunately I cant remeber any details, but maybe some one else can ?
