A couple of days in the UK

Have Wed, Thu, Fri off this week and really need a break! Can anyone please suggest somewhere I could go to for a couple of nights? (Bearing in mind the floods!) The only requirements I have really are hotel, good food and drink, and near to a station (travelling by train from Wales) Thanks

Well bearing in mind the flood situation I would NOT travel very far by train in case you cannot get back. Many trains have been cancelled and some lines are still under water.

Not sure if you are in South Wales or North Wales but as you probably know the whole of the area around the River Severn and River Avon such as Gloucester, Worcester etc are affected by floods.

As you are already in Wales why not explore a piece of Wales you have never been to.

The south west of Wales is wonderful with the Pembrokshire Coast, Gower peninsula etc (assuming trains go there, if not try the coach)

If you are in North Wales then Llanduno is a lovely historic town and trains DO go there.

The town is situated on a wonderful bay, was built in Victorian times,and still has some lovely old buildings and hotels.

Nearby is Conway Castle, Bodnant gardens, and other attractions.

The great Orme overlooks the town and you can get a cable car or "tram" up to the top for wonderful views.

I would suggest Weymouth a beautiful resort in Dorset on the south coast of England, railway station 5 minute walk from the sea front with its hotels.

Weymouth is indeed beautiful
if the weather turns out nice its just like being abroad
