What is the currency of Jersey.Pounds or Euros

Currency - All Island businesses accept English, Jersey, Guernsey and Scottish currencies. Some will accept euros. Note: the Island's notes are generally not accepted in the UK or elsewhere. Cash point machines indicate whether they dispense Jersey or UK currency.

I have just come back form a holiday in Jersey.

English notes and coins are accepted everywhere in Jersey.

They have their own Jersey 1 pound note, and also Jersey �5, �10 and �20 notes, plus Jersey coins such a 5p, 10p etc.

The English and Jersey money is used interchangably and if, for example, you pay for something with an English �20 note you may get change in a combination of English and Jersey money.

As Steve D says, make sure you get rid of all your Jersey notes before you come back to the UK as they may not be accepted here.

Jersey coins seem to be accepted here as nobody pays much attention to the markings on coins.

If you need any more advice about the island then feel free to ask.

vehelpfulguy seems to indicate that Jersey coins are accepted over here. Maybe if people aren't paying attention, but technically they aren't. If you do end up with any try using them in a machine (car park ticket machine, drinks dispenser etc) as they are the same size.

Yes I should have made it clear.

I am not saying Jersey coins are legal, but Jersey coins are the same shape, size and weight as English coins, so if you hand them over with a bunch of other English coins in the UK few people notice.

I have also used some Jersey coins in machines at work (drink, snacks etc) and they work fine.

Not sure if you have flown lately but I found the airport security is now very strict.

No liquids allowed in your hand luggage, which includes cans or bottles of coke, water etc, also sun cream and other "creams" (hand cream etc).

I had to throw away two half used bottles of sun cream at Jersey airport before I could get through security.

Either put it in your suitcase, or if you want drink for the plane journey, get through security and then buy it in the departure lounge.
