machine says I am already set up for foreign calls, but do I have to do anything when I get to France to initiate my phone or will it just be damn clever and know I'm there. As you can see, don't get out much! Sony Ericsson

morning , normally all you have to do is turn the phone off and back on again at which point it finds the new network .
These mobiles are very clever nowadays! LOL

OK, hubby has a Sony Ericsson with o2 and it picked up Frances equivalent service provider half way across the channel - we went by ferry

And once you're there your phone will be ready to use as it is already set for roaming. As o2 users we had to get a bolt on (which we got for free!) but you've called and they've said it's Europe ready :)

If you call the UK whilst in France you will need the number code which is 0044. Dial that and then, when you call a different area to the one you live in here you would use, say 01634, when in France leave out the 0, so you would dial 0044 1634 123456 which is UK's code, area code then number. Of course all countries have different codes

Have a great trip - I love France :)

Any help?

Many thanks for that both of you , can now leave without worrying!
I've just been to Moscow and Orange worked perfectly without me doing anything for it, but I think you have to pay half the costs of any call YOU receive.

Fine, cos only making the one call myself, hopefully!
