Bit like if a foreign national arrives at Heathrow, if they stay in London and then after a few days fly to Manchester or Edinburgh they do not have to fill in for the domestic flights.
Not much to do in Memphis after visiting Graceland and Beal St on Saturday night[ I think thats its name], no shopping centres they are miles away, but you can visit Tapula for the day[ ask reception there is a bus that comes to the hotel and picks you up] there its like a mini Las Vegas with about 5 big hotels with slots, entertainment and the food is good & cheap and the bus returns approx every hour., the fare is cheap [sponsored by the hotels of course] and you get to see some "Elvis" country on the journey which takes about 50 mins.
In New York take the hop on hop off tourist bus, do the whole round trip first until you get your bearings then go for it !
Have a great time.

While in Memphis, you must visit the Peabody hotel in the afternoon to celebrate the 'ducks.' I'l write a few bits for this evening. Also, in Laguardia, don't take a coach for transfers into Manhattan, car service will be much better for you.
Please, approximately where are you staying in Memphis and in New York?
Agree with everyone regarding visas...you will, however, still have to have proof of identity for each of you for the domestic flights, so don't pack your passports too far away...in fact...DON'T ever pack your passports away...keep them with you!
Are you by chance flying on Northwest? I ask only because of the itinerary.
Best regards
Fr Bill

Shame you are not spending time in the Dallas/FW area as that is great [and not like America at all!]
