I'm from Hull, but don't live there any more. I hear the Restaurant at The Deep is a great, atmospheric thing to do. The 'sub-marium' is on the bank of the Humber and the River Hull, so not much in the very immediate vacinity. However, there is a footway across theriver which takes you to the Marina, not sure how good the nightlife is on there these days, think a lot of the pubs have closed. However, I would highly recommend walking over to the Old Town. The Old Town, is now the place to go out in Hull city centre. There are loads and loads of choices, from new bars to old pubs, depending on what you like. One thing you MUST do if you're not from the area is go to Ye Olde White Harte (it dates back from the 1550's). You can easily miss it as you have to go down a narrow alleyway to reach it. So, the area around High St, Land of Green Ginger, Silver St and Lowgate is where you want ot be. Something for everyone, but bear in mind, it's a busy Saturday night (a quiet drink won't be found in many places around here!!).
Need anymore advise about Hull, post back on here...
