London buses

Can anyone please tell me what public bus(es) go past Buckingham Palace so you can see it. Not the private buses like hop on hop off, or Open Bus.
Hope someone can help with this.

See the map here:

Use the zoom function to enlarge the area around Green Park. The grey roads are bus routes. (Buses don't run along the white roads).
As you'll see, the following buses run along Grosvenor Place (but I don't know which ones are double-deckers):
2: West Norwood to Marble Arch
8: Victoria to Bow Church
16: Victoria to Cricklewood
36: Queen's Park Station to New Cross Gate
38: Victoria to Clapton
52: Victoria to Willesden
73: Victoria to Seven Sisters
82: North Finchley to Victoria
148: Shepherds Bush to Camberwell
436: Paddington to Lewisham
Remember that if you've got a Travelcard (for both bus and tube travel) or a bus pass you can use TfL services on a hop-on, hop-off basis. A single bus journey normally costs 2 but a one-day bus pass, for unlimited travel, is only 3.50. A one-day Travelcard, for zones 1 & 2, costs 6.60 (or 5.10 if you don't require travel before 0930 on a weekday).

Thanks for the reply.
You can buy a Travelcard at any Tube station. Also, if you're travelling to London by rail, many National Rail stations will sell you a ticket which includes a One Day Day Travelcard. (From some, but not all, stations that can save you money as the combined ticket is often cheaper than separate tickets).

Thanks again, Chris. Will look into TFL services to find out how their hop on and hop off operate. On the odd time I've gone to London I've used the tube but this is for a tourist visit, hence taking the buses. Thanks again.
By the way, never thought of having a Chris Buenchico tourist site - you'd make some money!

the nearest you will get to the front of the palace, will be the corner of buckingham gate and birdcage walk,sw1.but not sure what numbers buses go that way.only 50 yds to palace, you will not see anything of the palace from the top of any bus that goes down grosvenor place, because of the trees in the grounds of the palace.
