I am wanting to go on a bus trip from london to brugge, but don't have my british passport with me currently. Would I be able to travel using a photocopy of my passport, a UK photo drivers licence, and an Australian passport?

The only thing you need will be your Australian passport - the other items will be useless.

That assumes your Australian passport will allow you back into the UK - depends whether you entered using it and on what terms you were admitted.
Europeans can travel throughout the EU and possibly also within the EEA using a recognised national identity card. This excludes UK citizens whose government has no ID card scheme. UK citizens can only travel outside the country on a valid passport which also for all countries, unlike ID cards, has to be renewed within 10 years or as little as every 5 years maximum. An Australian passport requires a Schengen visa for the member countries and individual visas for the rest of Europe's countries unless any bilateral agreement is in place. Only the passport itself will do, no copies. If you are a UK citizen then you can expect to be let into Britain but you need to be able to prove your status. In today's climate this presents a challenge if no passport is to hand because no-brain procedures are in place and being operated. This is our lot due to extreme events in the recent past - liberalisation has been halted and is being rolled back. Our every move is being recorded as never before.

Not true - they can visit as a tourist without a visa, as they can virtually every European country with very few exceptions.

Getting back into the UK <could> be a problem with an Australian passport if OP is resident here and it contains no evidence to the effect they are entitled to be so. (That is, they relied on their British passport, which they don't have, as evidence of their right to live in the UK). They <could> be refused readmission as a tourist (because they are not), and refused readmission as a resident (as they have no evidence of entitlement)
