I am renewing and changing details on my passport, it has requested my Birth Certificate - does this have to be an original or can it be a copy - it does not stipulate.

Also, if I send my old passport back, will I still have to get my new passport photographs signed at the back.

Thank you so much in advance, this form is abit of a mine field.

It says

"We cannot accept certified copies or photocopies of documents".

Don't worry. They send it back promptly.

Thanks guys,xxx
Here's the answer to the second part of your question:

Quote:
"Renewing a passport:
You need to get your form countersigned and a photograph certified only if your appearance has changed so much that it would be difficult to recognise you from the photograph in your last or current passport".

Great, I was eighteen in the initial photograph, so heres hoping I have changed a little from the awful pose I was pulling, but I don't think I really have, he, he

Thank you all.
go to a main post office that accepts passports to be sent off and they will check everything before they send or tell you what you have to produce, saves a lot of time in the long run.
