we normally go to puerto pollensa but fancy a change. Can you recommend a similar resort? Ideally child friendly, a bit upmarket (not tacky), nice restaurants, good beach. Gracias!
Hi, we went to a resort called Sa Coma for a few years, really nice place, locals love children, lovely clean beach, hotels all have good entertainment, not tacky, best check with travel agent reports as havn't been for about 5 years so coud have changed, good luck!
Definately worth trying Soller on the North Coast - very picturesque with a nice beach and nice restaurants. Easy to get to from Palma on the old railway. Lovely church in the main square also...
In the South West is Puerto Portals.
There is a lovely sandy beach, a very upmarket port, designer shops and fabulous restaurants.
In the village (walking distance) is Aqualand, and a couple of miles down the road in Magaluf there are two water parks.
Portals is only 5km from Palma and the weather is more clement than in the North of the Island which can be windy.
There is a large English community in Portals so no problems getting english groceries etc. But the area is definitely not tacky......
.... and I know all this because I live there.
