Where to Stay in The Cotswolds

I have 2 Elderly (very grand) Aunts who are looking for somewhere "nice" to stay in The Cotswolds. They will need pampering and High Standards of service. Can anyone tell me of such a place please?

From what you say Broadway in the Cotswolds would be ideal for them, see jno's first suggestion.

Thank you both for your answers. I really am looking for somone who has actually experienced an excellent stay at somewhere in The Cotswolds. I also refer to Trip Advisor, but on each and everyone of the ratings, someone has had a BAD time in all the places listed. As my Aunts are elderly (and I mean in their 80s), this will be no doubt their last time there (their words not mine) and I really want to find them that special place.

I was born & brought up in the Cotswolds. I think we need to know more about your Aunts. Are they mobile, are they taking their own transport? What sort of things do they want to do & see when they get there?

Some friends stayed at The Greenway, Shrdington, near Cheltenham, recently. They loved it and are very fussy folk. Here are the details:-

Hi bluemel. I live in the Cotswolds, and have visited the Lygon Arms many times, the only problem with Broadway is that although its a nice enough area, it is very touristy, and too far away from the real Cotswolds.
My advice if your aunts need really pampering and high standards of service then it must be The Lords of the Manor in Lower Slaughter, near Bourton-on- the- Water.
Burford is a beautiful little town, very historic. Stow on the Wold shoppers paradise but expensive. A must to visit is Bibury. Cold Aston for a charming 17C pub called The Plough, for food to die for.
