That's it! We have looked at the original doc and there doesn't appear to be a mistake. At the time of the census (1881) she is shown as living in Salford. I was wondering if the 'For' isn't a state or anything but could mean 'foreigner'??
The place doesn't appear to exist, was wondering if the name has changed since 1851!
We have had it confirmed by someone else (a very distant relative) also researching their tree that she came from USA.
