Driving from Portland, OR to San Francisco, what are some of the "must sees"?

The road is, in places, quite twisty and it is a two lane in many places. Don't miss the Carmel & San Simeon area of Big Sur. It is a very beautiful 90 mile tight turned coastal stretch of road. Agai, take your Dramamine.
Keep in mind, it is coastal and the weather can be unpredictable, especially in the early Spring months... say through May. (March is th elast chance to see whale pods).
