5 Answers
Hi we fancy getting out of London on Easter Sunday by car. We live in the NW area and want to drive no longer than about 2 hours - any ideas of nice places to visit for the day and maybe take a picnic or somewhere nice for lunch? we've been to all the usual tourist places and fancy a change.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.richmond park in sw london, in richmond near surrey. it has a nice rural feel to it, is totally undeveloped as its protected park with deer and other wildlife with beautiful scenery, long golden grass and perfect picnic areas, and its not too far, as everyone knows public holidays can mean busy roads.
If you are in the North West how about going to West Wycombe Park along the M40.
Great place for a picnic with wonderful views

Otherwise keep going down the M3 to Bracknell Forest where there are nice walks too.
