Somewhere to stay in Cornwall

Im hoping to go to the rip curl festival in August and ive been looking for holiday cottages to stay in, im not sure which area of cornwall to look for, The festival is in newquay so we wouldnt want to be travelling far.
Or are there any good hotels to stay in. Not guest houses though.

Jayne, most of the places in Newquay are caravan places. They are lovely and to get around Newquay anywhere you go is only 2 - 3 quid in a Taxi. There are a couple of nice hotels at Waterbeach Bay but expensive now since Fifteen Restaurant opened. Worth a visit though.

Have you tried the local Travel Lodges, Premiere Inns etc. Not the poshest but clean, presentable and you know what you are getting.
