Do you know where the best place to live is? Not New york, but maybe California or Chicago maybe even Seattle. Any ideas on cities either would be great

Before you decide on a city you'd best see if you're able to move there

You are going to need a job offer before you can contemplate doing this - otherwise it's got to be as a tourist or as a student.
In the mean time... check out some other fairly large cities that have great living conditions and climate... Denver, Colorado, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Austin, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, Seattle, Washington or Portland Oregon come immediately to mind... and, Oh yeah! Portland Maine... close enough to Boston to enjoy that city but far enough away to be almost a totally different place.

Some smaller cities have a lot to offer... Billings, Montana, Salt Lake City, Utah, and several in northern California...

Welcome to the U.S. if you do come...
You can get american newspapers in big newsagents and also on subscription, it is a good idea to have a look in these, to see if you like what you see.
My mate moved to Vancouver and absolutely loves it; wishes he'd gone years ago. He went due to work, so they helped out with his work visa etc.
San Francisco is what you are looking for
