any advice on cheapest way to get one way flight to miami

wanting to meet my girlfriend in miami...then fly onto newyork...cant seem to find one way tickets at reasonable price ...bristol birmingham or any london airport .. please help

Presumably you are coming back from NY at some point?
The cheapest way to do this may be to search for UK to NY return, then NY to Miami return. You would have to drop down into NY on the way out, but it avoids the one-way ticket-price-hike syndrone.

Assuming that you are British and travelling on the visa waiver scheme than you can't travel to Miami on a one way ticket, you have to have a return (from another airport is fine though)

As the bulk of passengers flying to Miami from the UK are Brits on holiday, the airlines don't think it worth while offering special one way fares as most of their passengers would be denied entry

What you want is an open jaw ticket, or a triangular one, not a one way.
