Visa for US needed?

Im going to new york in july and I dont know if I need a visa or not. I have a british passport which was issued in july 2004 and in early 2005 I travelled to US, however since then, the biometric conditions have been introduced. Do I need to contact the US embassy?

The biometric conditions only apply to new passports issued after they were introduced - older ones remain fine until they expire
