Been to Brean???
Has anyone been to Pontins at Brean sands as I have booked a holiday there for August and have since read a lot of bad reviews about the resort.. Has anyone actually been and had a good time or is dirty and boring as many people have stated?

To be honest, even people who come from BRidgwater point there finger and laught at Pontins, Brean. On the upside, 40 minute drive from some nice beaches. Glastonbury on the door step. There should be enough around to keep you occupied.
Reviews for the site seem ok though.

I am not sure the review on that link above are that good.
If you scroll down to the update by Mrs VM Hesson (10th one down) she gives it 2 out of 10.
The next person gives it 1, then a 2, then a 1, another 1, then a 2.
If you go on the second page there are 15 comments, and seven of them give 1 out of 10.
Having said that it is very variable, there are a few that give 7, 8 and 9 out of 10, even a couple of people give 10 out of 10.

jababe, John Fowler holiday parks aren't bad and they aren't expensive either and generally in nice locations. They have one in Burnham on Sea, but to honest for a really nice holiday, you need to get Devon coast. Combe martin, has a nice little park, which is close to Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, and you can even get a day out to Lundy Island.

If you get them to send you the catalogue they have discounted prices in it.

Pontins anywhere have definately gone downhill over the last few years.
I went for a group weekend to outside Lowestoft and it was awful, people in the group were ranting on about the quantity of food available, but it was inedible and compared with school dinners, we went out to eat because we couldnt face it.
Chalets were not clean[ blankets had holes] and the condensation poured down the old fashioned window frames, never again.
I realise that your on a budget and its difficult when we all shoot Pontins down in flames, so whatever you do I hope you have a nice holiday.

There is a better holiday site in Brean called 'Warren Farm' which is 2 mins further down the road. Pontins, Brean, is not the best in the world but some people do enjoy it..everyone has their own opinon....another would be 'Home Farm' in nearby Burnham on Sea.
The ebach is not the best as its very tidal and is part of the bristol channel...but its not to far to drive to some lovely beaches and the countryside is fab.
All depends on what you are looking for???
PS. Brean will be exceedingly busy in August as its one of the UKs biggest holiday resorts...but it is the school holidays!
