On leaving through customs, look for the signs for the trains. The route is ahead and to the right, through the shopping mall.
You are travelling to AMSTERDAM CENTRAAL
Single fare to Amsterdam Centraal is 3.10.
Trains are at the lower level, down the moving ramp. Watch for the signs to make sure you get the right train. Do not get a train for Amsterdam Zuid or Amsterdam RAI, as these stations are on the line which goes round the south of Amsterdam, avoiding the centre. It is probably platform 1 or 3.
Some trains stop at the local stations on the way in: Lelylaan; Sloterdijk;
Trains can be going beyond Amsterdam CS to places such as Lelystad, Utrecht, or Berlin, but most terminate at CS.
You can follow the route round the west side of Amsterdam on the map, to get your bearings. As you travel north, look east to see how the tower of the Westerkerk dominates the city. Theres also the church known as the Coal Scuttle from its tower: this is close to the railway between Lelylaan and Sloterdijk stations. There is the new bit of the Metro running round this side, on the town side of the mainline track.
Sloterdijk station is on two levels, and is a major interchange.
At CS, the trains to and from the airport now mostly use high numbered platforms - 11 to 14, or something like that. This means you are at the far side of the station from the exit to Stationsplein and Damrak
