US dollars travellers cheques
I have quite a lot of leftover US dollars travellers cheques. I would like to change them up into dollar notes. Does anyone know where is the best place to try and do this? ie a currency exchange or a travel agent and if so, what sort of fee would they charge, pse?

In the UK you will find that they will take your cheques at "buy" rate and give you the notes at "sell" rate - you would lose anywhere between 5-12% in the operation. It would be similar elsewhere (except US itself), but some places would be cheaper (you would lose less).
yeah i agree above, if you bring back to currency exchange bureau, you will be gaven sterling first by buying rate, then use those sterling to buy usd back by selling rate, you will lose money.
usd rate has been up and down lots recently, you may wanna watch it, encash your chq when sell rate dropped, then wait the sell rate goes up to buy usd back.
