I have a FlexAccount with Nationwide. The bank says I can take money out anywhere in the world for free. But last summer when I was in Portugal not a single machine there accepted my card. I was wondering how easy people vfound it to take cash out in the USA. Nationwide said it will work in any ATM which has the link symbol on. Does anyone know if most machines in the USA have this symbol?
And how easy people found it to get their cash out in the USA?
A few weeks ago I was doing some advance research on a trip to poland, and read that some people with relatively new british cards could only get them to work in old looking cash machines... This could be the same problem
I don't believe you are right in your assertion about the 'Link' symbol - I believe the Nationwide FlexAccount needs a Cirrus symbol. I had no problem doing just this with the same card during a recent US holiday in June.
