My Passport has been in the system for a week now and i go on holiday at end of august it s first time passport therefore required to be interviewed does anyone know if i will get it on timeas passport office dont give me specific time scales???

The recent 3 day strike won't have helped things. The official line is that you should allow 6 weeks when applying for a first passport:

The best you can do is to complete the online tracking form and wait for an email:
http://www.ips.gov.uk/passport/application-tra cker-form.asp

have to say.. you left it rather late considering the time of year!

and you're right.. a first adult passport application will require you to attend an interview. there must be a helpline number you can call on the leaflets that came with the application form?
