my 13 yr old stepsons just had hepatitus A and also need to take chloroquine tablets, these are a once a week tablet, to be taken one week before travel, the 2 weeks he,s away and most importantly for 4 weeks on return, he,s going to dom rep too!!!

the tablets were about �4 from boots, dont forget EXTRA STRENGTH repel

Yes, and take some Bite-eze spray in case the mozzies still get you, it works wonders!! (they really bite in the evening, so beware) check with your health centre they will advise you, but you do need to have some good mozzie repellent, otherwise they'll bite you to bits!!..I've seen it!!..............hope this helps ............welsh

Sorry, should have said that it's a lovely place for a holiday, as long as you have the appropriate injections, and take along your anti malaria tablets, and use the recommended insect repellent at all times, then you'll have a wonderful holiday, otherwise, you will suffer, I have seen many people who where not prepared, and they did suffer needlessly, I, on the other hand didn't have any mozzie bites, and have always really enjoyed the Dom
Republic, and will go back again.................welsh
