I am travelling to philly next month for a family wedding.
Problem is i need a tourist visa, but now do not have time to get one.
I have a criminal conviction for assault (not serious) resulting in a 200 fine when i was 16, (now 23).
I also got done for driving without insuance in nov '07.
Will i get through immigration ok if i tick no to convictions on the greencard you fill in on the plane?

Look above your question and you will see 'post a question'. Into thequestion title box put 'travelling to us with conviction'. Type any old rubbish in the box below and when you press submit it will come up with a load of questions which have already been answered on this subject. Check them out.

Of course, you could have looked at them before pressing submit when you posted this question!
Basically, the answer's yes. If you answer No to those questions, you'll get in.

I can understand Spud's frustraions, though. Every second question (I exaggerate) on here in Travel seems to be about getting in to the USA.

They don't have access to the GB police database
I keep saying this A/B should have a special section just for this same question which appears almost daily.
Just tick the no convictions box, you will be fine.

Hope this helps....

Hello to all

Just thought id let everyone know how i got on with my trip to USA with a criminal record....

Was bricking it on the day we was flying to Sanford Airport. But all was good got in with no problems as many on here adviced i would.

Don't know if they knew about my criminal record or not, but if they did they wasn't interested. Best holiday we have ever had. knackered now though. Great people the Americans including border control.

It was harder and more time consuming trying to get back in the UK.....

Now i've experianced it, i'd just tick No to all Questions on green form. Enjoy!!!
