Does anyone know where to get a cheap (but nice) holiday in Brighton? I want to go away for a few days at the beginning of September. I don't mind if it's a hotel, guest house or self catering. Any ideas?

Have you tried lastminute.com?
Question Author
I tried lastminute.com but could only find holidays abroad.

I looked again on lastminute.com. I found hotels in Brighton but they were very expensive. I've decided now I want self-catering.
notafish,
What is expensive to you?
There are areas that are better than others so what you want from your holiday is a factor.
Brighton is very anti-car so don't expect an easy time driving around the city.
Sheepcoat Valley is in the heart of Whitehawk which is an absolute poo-hole and full of criminals.

Out of season, I would opt for Regency Square which is full of B and B's and is just behind the Grand DeVere and Metropole etc.

Or try Steine Gardens in Kemp Town.

But be prepared to pay just as much for parking as you will for the actual rooms.

Outside London, Brighton is the most expensive place to park in the UK.

Hi Peeler, I didn't want to spend more than 500 as it's only four nights, but I can't find a hotel cheaper than that in lastminute.com. Also I put "self-catering" into lastminute. com stating Brighton, East Sussex, and two of the ideas it came up with were in Dorset, the other three weren't Brighton either. I'm having no luck at all.
You could stay in my grandparents bungalow with them??! Only kidding, how changeable on the destination are you? I've found that south coast holidays can be very expensive, but the Lake District was a lot cheaper and the views were breathtaking....

Doolallygirl, I think you're right. I'm going to have to look at other destinations. I can't find any bargains in Brighton.

Is this a record?
Question Author
Oh I didn't know anyone could see these. I was just looking through all my old questions to see what I'd asked. And making sure I was the last answer. On one of my questions, someone answered it several years after I'd asked it, and I hadn't realised it had been answered.
